The Government of India has announced the 59 chiness app as a band in India

On the night of the 29th, the Government of India announced 59 chiness apps all over India to protect the cyber security of the Indian people and to protect various important information. Meanwhile, popular social media apps like TickTok, Hello, Likee, etc. It also has popular web browsers like MI Browser ,UC Browser etc.




The government said the applications were "involved in the pre-emptive work to protect India's sovereignty and integrity, India's defense, state security and public order." It said that this prohibition has been imposed under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act (Procedure and Protection of Access to Information by the Public) Rules 2009, with relevant provisions. The government has also cited allegations of Indian users migrating abroad without permission.


The move could come as a shock to China’s Digital Silk Route ambitions, lowering the valuation of companies. Sources told ET that it follows India's lead and working against these apps could lead to more countries.


A top official person of government of India , said that government had considered all aspects before making a decision. "These apps have been around for a long time in Indian market, and they have some privacy and security issues also that put them at risk of leaving the country without information," the person said this words.





Prohibition proposed by the Ministry of Home Affairs

"The collection, excavation and composition of information by India's national security and anti-defense elements, which ultimately imposes India's sovereignty and integrity, is a matter of deep and immediate concern" urgent action is required, "it said. "Concerns have been raised about data security aspects in protecting the privacy of 1.3 billion Indians. It has recently been noted that such concerns are also a threat to our sovereignty and security.


The Internet Freedom Foundation said: “This is not a legal order issued under section 69A. Our first question is transparency and disclosure. The activist group tweeted that such cases need to be considered individually, not as a whole.
